What is the No Kings Movement?**

No Kings is a national, nonviolent protest movement pushing back against what organizers describe as an unprecedented concentration of power in the current administration. The name comes from America's founding rejection of King George III; the idea that in this country, no one rules absolutely.

Key facts:

• Started June 14, 2025  with over 5 million people in 2,100+ cities across all 50 states

• Grew even larger on October 18, 2025 with over 7 million people at 2,700+ events nationwide

• Protests have been overwhelmingly peaceful

• Issues include: attacks on First Amendment rights, immigration enforcement, militarization of communities, and abuse of executive power all of which are core NAACP concerns

**Can NAACP Units Participate?**

Yes! Units are absolutely able to engage locally and statewide with No Kings Mobilizations. Here's how to do it right:

• Local actions: Submit a Direct Action/Special Event Request before participating

• Statewide actions: Coordinate with your State Conference President first, then submit the request
